Set in the rolling hillside of outback New South Wales, Australia, Timberline is a tiny town, the type of town you can breeze through in a minute and never know you had been there. The town itself consists of a few useful stores, with fish-bone alleyways leading off the main street into the suburbs. The main industry of Timberline is the cattle and sheep stations in the surrounding area. Named for a scrubby ridgeline that runs behind it, Timberline is quiet and dusty for a good proportion of the year. Everyone knows everyone else, and the atmosphere is one of geniality and safety. Nobody locks their cars here. Laws are upheld loosely. The nearest law enforcement is in another town named Yulla more than forty kilometres away, so the civilains act as police around here. Underage drinking is common, and not frowned upon. In fact, the only things Timberline residents truly abhor are prostitution and murder.
Nearest City: Adelaide, SA. A six hour car-trip away. Weather: Usually sunny and cloudy. In the summer there are occasional bush fires, and in the winter the odd flash flood. Speed Limit: 100 kmph (kilometres per hour). Population: 2000.
